On your next visit to the North Georgia mountains, be sure to check out the Hiawassee River if you enjoy fishing. It is the premier trout river of the North Georgia Mountains. Fish include rainbow trout and brown trout. Be sure to check the Georgia fishing regulations for seasons. Make sure you talk to the locals in the area, they can give you tips for where to fish along the river as well as what to use for bait.
If you are looking for a private area right out your back door, check out www.hiawasseerivercamps.com for premier cabins on the Hiawassee River. These cabins are located 20 minutes north of Helen, GA.

We attended the Travis Tritt concert last Friday night at the Anderson Music Hall here in Hiawasee, GA. If you have never seen him in concert- he is a must see! He was very excited to be back in his home state of GA and made conversation with the crowd all night long. He played for almost 3 hours in a very intimate setting. His band played songs from the beginning- like Country Club- all the way to songs off his last album from a couple of years ago. He even covered Johnny Cash! His acoustic set covered some slow songs such as Foolish Pride and Anymore. If you thought he could sing- you should hear him play the guitar. We would definately see him again! Check out some pics from the concert. For upcoming events in the area, be sure to check out www.blueridgemountainchamber.com
